Antique Victorian Family Bible - Rev John Brown - Pub by John Murdoch H/B w/ Clasps
A large hardback edition of Brown's Self-Interpreting Family Bible, published in London by John Murdoch, weighing over 5kg. From the dates entered by a previous owner, and the style of the bible, we believe it to have been printed in the 19th century but unfortunately we cannot be more precise than this. The bible has metal edging and clasps which can be fastened.
Condition is described as Used/Vintage
The buyer should expect the item to have wear/damage consistent with previous use. The covers and spine are scuffed/scratched/marked/discoloured. There is splitting where the covers join the spine and across the spine also. The metal areas are misshaped in places, but the clasps still function. The pages are marked/discoloured/torn in places. The book has a musty smell consistent with its ages. There is an inscription to the inside of the back cover. The book appears to have undergone a repair at some point.
