It contains make-up from the early Hollywood era when this company - Colonial Dames Co Ltd began making stage make-up for the stars.
The make-up it contains is called "Campus make-up" and the colour is tan.
It has a lovely vintage picture on the front with the words "COLONIAL CAMPUS BOUQUET" surrounding a posy of flowers. It would look lovely on a dressing table with other vintage collectables.

"A BEAUTIFUL HISTORY EST. 1886 - Colonial Dámes Co., Ltd. was established more than a century ago by descendents of Colonial Virginia Governor Henry Wise. It is believed to be the oldest skin care and cosmetics company in the country.
Founded in 1886 in San Francisco, known at the time as the notorious "Barbary Coast."
