Vintage Carltonware Guinness Advertising 'Zookeeper' Ceramic Figure
A Lovely figurine, he's maybe looking for the baby Kangaroo that just happens to be in his apron pouch.
The famous Guinness motto 'My Goodness - My GUINNESS'
John Gilroy was the creator of the Guinness advertising figures, using many different animals, even humans.
It's in good condition, no chips, cracks. The glazing has crazed in places & there is some wear to the base.
It is 101mm tall and has 70mm x 55mm base.
The use of these figures was used in original advertising campaigns dating back to the 1920's.
