Vintage Bryant & May's Wax Vestas tin advertising vesta case matchsafe, advertising to the front with an original photograph, but missing the celluloid cover / top.
Does have a small burn mark on the photo and a small tear, but you can still clearly see the image of the theatre. Please see the first picture above.
The advertising is for 'King's Theatre, Southsea', so a promotional / souvenir piece of the time.
The Theatre opened on 30 September 1907, and it is operated by the Kings Theatre Trust Ltd.
The striker is on the back in the centre, and each side of the striker it says 'Bryant & May's Wax Vestas and Made in England'.
The tin opens and closes from the front, could shut better, has signs of wear which is what you would expect, but generally still good overall condition for age.
Inside you can still see traces of the original gilding, and on the inside lid is an outline of a man on horse just jumping over a fence, and also on the outside edge bottom and top says 'Jahnckes Patent'.
Measures approx. 4.5 cms x 3 cms with rounded corners.
