Antique Solid Silver Waltham Pocket Watch - 1917 - size 16
The case is in good condition with no bad scratches dents or staining, the back has an engine turned design with a cartouche in the middle - most of the engine turning has worn away over time. Around the outside of the case is a coined edging - open the back and on the inside back cover is the Lion for 925 silver an anchor for Birmingham a case makers mark A. L. D. There is a dust cover over the movement - which is also in good condition. When opened it has the same silver hallmarks present - the gilt movement looks clean and working well. It is crown and stem - with 7 jewels - a lever escapement, a bridge plate, and a plain balance cock with a ruby end stone. On the movement is American Waltham U. S. A Traveler and a movement number which dates it to 1917. The dial is white enamel with black roman numerals, and a sub seconds dial at 6 o'clock. At the top is Waltham U. S. A. It has no chips, hairlines or staining - it just in very good condition. The crown will wind and set. The watch will run the full length of its wind and keeps good time.
The watch is 50.5mm in diameter with out the crown and 16.7mm thick with the glass or a 16 size. All of the hinges are in good condition and working well. The glass is plastic - but it's in very very good condition.
