Antique Birmingham Hallmarked Silver HARRIS STONE of Leeds Pocket Watch - 1932 - Dennison Case
Key Wind and Set
Lovely pocket watch in excellent condition for its age. The Birmingham Hallmarked 'H' (1932) in silver Dennison case.
No 615250.
Very little pocket wear. The original glass is very good condition - no marks or scratches. The lovely pure white porcelain dial signed H. Stone, Leeds, has no chips or stains. It has gold spear and whip hands, and black Roman numerals with a sub seconds dial at 6 o,clock. The catches and hinges are good - so the covers open and close perfectly.
The watch measures 53 mm across and 20 mm thick.
The Makers Mark is A.L.D. For Aaron Lufkin Dennison (Born in Fremont U.S.A. in 1812) worked very close with the Waltham Watch Co. untill he moved to Birmingham England in 1874 and opened the Dennison Watch Case Co. (Making watch cases for all the top watch makers such as Rolex and Omega, etc, and sometimes importing high grade Swiss movements to fit his cases). His factory ran until the 1960s.
The 3/4 plate crown wind and set Swiss 15 jewel movement is running very well and keeping reasonable good time.
