Wonderful Vintage George VI Solid Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel Powder Compact Made By Page, Keen & Page
Description - Splendid Vintage Art Deco 1930s George VI good gauge solid silver and guilloche enamel powder compact of circular slightly domed form with hinged lid and push button clasp. The lid has a wonderful Navy Blue guilloche enameling plus a silver applied central Royal Navy Crown the base has nice engine turned decoration with a hand engraved inscription.
The cigarette case is fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter "O" for the year 1938 and the maker mark "P K & P" which is Page, Keen & Page
Condition - The interior glass mirror is missing, there is a minor chip to the enamel on the edge and a couple of light minor small bruises on the base. There are no nasty dents, there are no dinks, dints, splits, holes or repairs. The engine turned decoration is nice and clear, the hinge and clasp are is in excellent working order clicking the case shut securely.
Dimensions & Weight - The compact is 7.5cm in diameter. The gross weight is 78.8 grams.
