The H Samuel story began in 1862 when Harriet Samuel took over her father-in-law?s clock-making business in Liverpool, UK. Harriet moved the business to Manchester?s Market Street and ran the mail order side. Her son developed the retail area. The first H Samuel retail store opened in Preston in 1890 and today H Samuel is a mass-market jewellery chain, operating in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland with 375 stores.
This lovely English pocket watch is in good condition for its age , The case Chester Hallmarked 'P' = 1898, solid Silver has a few tiny dents and general wear marks, and some pocket wear. the hinges are good so the covers open and close ok.
The acrillic glass is very good. The lovely white porcelain dial is good with no chips, stains or visible hairlines, It has golden Fleur de Lis hands with black Roman numerals with outer minute track and sub seconds dial at 6 o'clock, The watch measures 54 mm across x 20 mm deep.
The full plate 7 jewel going barrel movement Signed H. Samuel, Manchester, with lever escapement is running very well and keeping reasonable good time. It is key wound and set.
Another Lovely 127 year Old Pocket Watch. Working well and in nice condition for it's age. Key supplied.
