Antique Victorian Solid Silver Rotherham and Dons Pocket Watch - c1891 - In Full Working Order.
Case : solid sterling silver bearing hallmarks for Birmingham 1891 with makers mark of JR - Rotherham and Sons. Case is in a good worn condition with some surface scratching commensurate with age, and some previous inspection marks. All closures snap shut, tight and secure, with all hinges are in good order with the bezel in good order. Press the top button down, and with help as the case spring has broken, rear cover opens to reveal the watch winding aperture. The case has a serial number of 546.
Bow Assembly : in good condition with the bow being secure.
Crystal : is of glass, clear and free from surface scratches being a replacement.
Dial : is in MINT condition being free from hairline cracks and chipping to the edge of the dial. Dial is white with black Roman numerals and sub second dial present. All hands are present and are in good condition. The minute and Hour hands being of a gold colour, with the second hand being blue steel in colour.
Movement : full plate 7 jewelled going barrel movement with split bimetallic balance running the full length of the wind, and keeping good time, +/- 2 minutes a day or better. The watch has been fully serviced with the balance having a good working action in all positions. The gilding remains in very good condition and is free from any corrosion. A serial number of 210031 is present. Watch is key set and wound, and a replacement key will be supplied with the watch.
