Antique Birmingham Hallmarked Silver Open Face English / Swiss Pocket Watch. Dated 1883. Comes with Key.
This lovely solid sterling silver English pocket watch case No 54503 has a Birmingham Hallmark "l" (1885) 0.925 silver, the case is in reasonable good condition just a little nice even pocket wear, the hinges and catches are good so both back and front open and close nicely.
The original glass is very good. The lovely porcelain dial Signed Patent Lever is very good with no chips, stains or hairlines, It has gold spear & whip hands, black Roman numerals with outer minute track and a sub seconds dial at 6- o'clock, The watch measures 50 mm across x 16 mm deep.
The Makers Mark is-- J.S. For -- Joseph Sharpe, Case Maker of -- Holyhead Road, Coventry. Registered 1835.
It has a full plate 15 jewel going barrel key wind and set movement No 13632 (under dial), with English type lever and Compensated Balance escapement is running very well and keeping reasonable good time.
